The World's Columbian Exposition, also known as the Chicago World’s Fair, was organized in celebration of the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s landing in America. Richard Morris Hunt (born October 31, 1827, Brattleboro, Vermont – died July 31, 1895, Newport, Rhode Island), American architect of the nineteenth century and an eminent figure in the history of American architecture.
